Bologna Snow

What's with the multitude of food references to Tony Snow, the new White House Press Secretary? Everytime I tilt my head, some media pundit is mentioning Kool Aid or sausage. What? Has the White House just discovered the use of senses as rhetorical strategy? Or was Bush just hungry when he asked Snow to "join the team?" I can hear him now using pet names to belittle the man so many in main stream press respect. "Hey Tony Bologna, grab us a couple of hotdogs on your way over to the White House!"

Having just fasted for three days, food allusions were everywhere, which is why I noticed this new food theme popping up everytime Snow was mentioned. However, I couldn't help but think that viewers were becoming the proverbial lab rat in a nascent media experiment contrived by the most undemocratic conniver of them all, Karl Rove. A gleaming eyed Rove must have salivated at the chance of choosing Snow to replace the befuddling Scott McClellen. Think about it, choosing a man who has ostensibly bashed Bush, calling him "an embarrassment" to the Republican Party, and then using food references to make the whole event much more palatable, is brilliant. As we consume their lies, and digest the fact that we tolerated a moron (McClellen) for our direct link to the President and his staff since 2001, more of the same crap shouldn't bother us so much. Oh well, let us eat cake!
