Cautiously Re: Roe V Wade

I had a brief debate today with a guy (moron) from some contemptuous prolife/Christian organization. You know, those disgusting groups that publically display disrespectful and eggregious photos of partially aborted babies in an effort to justify there own sick sense of reasoning. Here is a more refined version of what I said:

OK - Take away the right to an abortion. But also, take away all the babies that were born from invitro fertilization. Untie all the tubes of women who finally didn't require their husband's permission to do so. And, don't forget to take away all the profits from the drug companies for birth control pills. Because, what you have failed to see is that Roe vs Wade was about a woman's right to CHOOSE which resulted in all of the above. Do you not recall that at one time women had zero say in their own reproductive health??? And many people, including those who object to abortion, have profited from it.

I always find it interesting when men take a pro-life stance on abortion. Although they absolutely have a right to an opinion, they are not at the core of this debate: women and their right to excercise their own private, moral decisions of childbirth are. It just seems funny to me that men will never be in a situation to "choose," yet many times they are the most vicious advocates for taking away women's rights. Note, this is coming from a male.
